A stunning Port Jackson fig was recently planted in the restaurant precinct on Banksia Way, dedicated by Culligan Water. Culligan Water generously bid $12,000 for this beautiful tree at the Foundation’s inaugural Evergreen Dinner in support of the education centre and recycled garden project.
The Port Jackson fig will grow up in the shadows of the two magnificent Port Jackson figs currently growing around the new restaurant building. These figs are approximately 80 years old and provide a striking landscape contrast to the new building.
The tree was planted in a new garden bed located at the entry ramp into the restaurant precinct and will grow to the same size as the existing figs in the next 30 to 40 years. The tree will eventually join canopies with the existing fig trees to form a natural entry feature into the restaurant precinct.
Culligan Water is the world’s leading water filtration experts, providing filtered water for thousands of homes, offices and restaurants.
Culligan has partnered with the Bottled Water Alliance, a new initiative from the founders of Planet Ark. They are aiming to tackle the environmental impact of plastic water bottles that use up valuable resources to produce, and create enormous damage to the environment.
The Centennial Parklands Foundation gratefully acknowledges the generous support of Culligan Water and congratulates Culligan on their environmental initiatives.
