The Evergreen Dinner – connecting park, planet and plate
An evening of exceptional food awaits when the Centennial Parklands Foundation hosts its inaugural Evergreen Dinner - a ‘slow food’ fundraising feast prepared by internationally renowned chef Mark Best (recently awarded Three Chef’s Hats).
The Evergreen Dinner, to be held on Saturday 11 October 2008, will be the first event in the newly refurbished Centennial Parklands Restaurant. Funds raised will go to the creation of an Education Centre and Recycled Garden for the community.
Guests will be treated to a unique culinary experience with Mark Best of Marque Restaurant drawing on some of the season’s finest locally sourced organic and biodynamic produce to create a menu as stunning and diverse as the beautiful parklands surrounding the venue.
’We are delighted to be presenting a glamorous and guilt free event to raise vital funds for important environmental and educational projects in the Parklands, while showcasing our principal sponsor, the new Centennial Parklands Dining,’ said Sarah Whyte, Chair of the Centennial Parklands Foundation.
‘The Foundation is additionally working with the respected international emissions reduction company, Climate Friendly, to offset unavoidable CO2 emissions generated through land travel, energy consumption, food and waste from the event,’ she said.
Tickets to the dinner are selling fast, however opportunities to support the Foundation through this event still exist. At $200 per person, the tickets include a $100 tax deductible donation.
This event is proudly supported by Centennial Parklands Dining, Kiehl’s, Cascade Green, Tamburlaine Vineyard, Green Tomato Cars and Culligan Water.
